Battling the Big C

Updated: Feb 8, 2018

Yes, this beautiful orange colour we know as Turmeric has been the talk of the town these past few years. If you haven't heard of this magical root, please point me in the direction of the rock you're living under... Just kidding!! But I am here to bring you out of the darkness and into the golden light!

This post is not here for you to read every benefit of the miracle root itself, for that you may visit anywhere else on the internet... This post is meant to explain a few useful things;

the difference between Turmeric and Curcumin, the benefits of using our First Response supplement and how to battle the mess before Curcumin leaves its stain all over your house! (Sorry I haven't posted this sooner for all you poor souls that have experienced this, my heart really does go out to you. Contact us for more options and info).

Ironically so, the picture below illustrates the structure of a Curcumin molecule battling Cancer cells (the big "C"). However, I'm going to talk you through your options of battling Curcumin itself! The mess, that is....

First Response: Injury and Trauma is rightly named. The properties of our blend are strong, fast, reliable and should be the first respondents on the scene in serious cases regarding any and all inflammation. These include hip dysplasia, cruciate damage and post-surgery. Along with our insanely effective amount of MSM and GHCl per dose, we add Boswellia and Curcumin (both herbal anti-inflammatories), Vitamin C and Magnesium for immunity and increased absorption.

Now, Curcumin is between 2-5% of Turmeric. The recommended dose for best results is about 1g of Curcumin a day. You'll have to ingest a heck of a lot of Turmeric to hit bulls eye on that one. So, we go straight for the extract! Our Curcumin arrives with a guaranteed analysis from a trusted source. Calvin has been very picky with ingredients for all our formulas, "Only the best!".. okay, dad... ;D

Curcumin is hydrophobic, which means it is literally afraid of liquid. This is why it has trouble absorbing in the body. Some say the solution is feeding alongside pepper to increase this absorption. You may also feed with any fat for increased bio-availability.

In all it's beautiful brilliance, in some cases, Curcumin comes with an orange obituary:

Today, soon after feeding our pet a gorgeous meal,

our couch passed away. It traveled to the dark, gold side

and dragged our floor tiles down with it.

The family and friends are distraught,

not knowing what to do with their bottoms, feet, hands

or hearts. They wish the best for these material objects,

as they become one with the sun.

Don't be afraid! I'm here to give you some serving tips to keep your walls white, and your smiles bright!

1. Use Protection. Gloves are a good way to save yourself from the "C".

When I add a scoop of First Response to my smoothies in the morning, I keep my scoop outside of the container so I don't have to dig for it and just give it a rinse when I'm done!

2. Coconut Oil. Use an ice cube tray to portion out the First Response dose in each hole. Add melted coconut oil and gently stir to mix. Let harden in the fridge or freezer and add one per meal!

3. Other Oils. Any oil such as Omega 3, 6, 9 or Salmon that is usually in a liquid state is also a great option to mix with. In a small container, add your dose of First Response, stir with your oil and top off the food!

4. Fatty Food. Instead of sprinkling the dose on top of the meal, stir into a wet food. Raw meat or canned food usually contains enough fat for the supplement to mix well and maximize absorption.

This is our beautiful Curcumin:

Now, go forth into your confidence!

If you use it, do so wisely!

Happy First Responding!
